Pastor Josh Randol has been the Youth Pastor at Pleasant Ridge since 2017. He grew up in Archie and became saved when he was 9 years old. He attended the First Baptist Church of Archie until he started dating Alexys in 2013 and began to attend Pleasant Ridge, where she was currently attending. When he asked his Youth Pastor at FBC about switching churches, his Youth Pastor told him, “My number one job is to make sure that you have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Obviously I want you here, but whether it’s at this church or another one, I’m happy as long as you’re in church and growing.” This statement has become Josh’s mantra when it comes to leading our Youth. He says that he can’t always control when teens will come and go, but he can show them as much love as he can while they’re here and point them to the cross. After that, it’s in God’s hands. Josh and Alexys got married in November of 2018 and live in Grandview. They currently have two children, Asher and Aurora. They plan to have more children in the future, but are leaving the timing up to God. While raising two children can be very time consuming, Josh does his best at being a part of the Youth Group’s lives, both in and out of the church building. He has attended basketball games, football games, been a judge at a speech and debate tournament, and attended many, MANY school plays and musicals. He believes that showing the love of God is so much more than preaching the Bible to them on a Wednesday night or Sunday morning, it’s showing up for them whenever you can and caring about what’s going on in their lives. Pastor Josh felt the call to be a Youth Pastor when he was in his early teen years, and says that he has many more years ahead of him. When it comes to pouring into the lives of our teenagers, he’s all in.
